Hi friends!

Today’s journal is a bit unusual, talking with animals.

To be honest, I was a little confused when I first read the theme, because, well, I don’t have any superpowers that allow me to actually talk to animals. But since this is just a journaling exercise, let’s imagine it together, shall we?

If I could talk to an animal, I’d choose to talk to the cat in my house.

I have a younger sister who adores cats, like, truly loves them with all her heart. The rest of us at home? Well… we’re more of the “they’re cute but okay, chill” type. We don’t dislike cats, but we don’t melt at the sight of them the way she does either.

What’s even funnier is that my sister only likes female cats. Yup, only female. So, as expected, the cats at home keep having babies. One day I asked her why she doesn’t adopt a male cat instead, and she simply answered, “Male cats fight too much, and I don’t like it.” Classic.

Every time a female cat gives birth, there’s always a little family drama in the house. My mom will inevitably scream, not because she’s scared, but because she gets goosebumps watching the kittens being born. It’s chaotic, but in the most amusing way.

So, if I could actually have a conversation with our cat, I’d love to ask her a few questions, “Hey, how does it feel to live in such a unique family like ours? Are you happy living in the kitchen? Do you feel safe here? If you could make a wish, what would you want as a pet living in this house? And most importantly, what kind of food do you really like and which one do you secretly hate but still eat just to be polite, umm?”

I think it would be so fun to actually hear her answers. Maybe she has opinions about each of us. Maybe she’d complain that my mom screams too loud. Maybe she’d say my sister is her favorite human. Or maybe she’d just ask for unlimited food and a warm nap spot near the stove.

Who knows? 😄

And if she could talk, I imagine she’d roll her eyes at us humans and say something like:

“You people are weird… but I guess I like living here.”
